After various rounds of escalation the 2K staff which was able to assist was "Charley N." so it may be worth asking if the request can be escalated to him.

To possibly help the escalation you may want to make reference to my support ticket number #730479. If you could raise a support ticket at you may have more success. Some people get a Steam support staff who is willing to assist and add the game without troubles, like you I got someone who was unhelpful.Īfter I think ~9 months I finally got the issue resolved for myself as well as a handful of my friends. I've heard people have mixed success with both Steam and 2K. Update: 2K Games statement on the matter is to contact Steam support and seem to be unwilling to assist in resolving the matter. Of course, its this is unfortunately the kind of support I expected from big companies like Valve/2K. Since then I have had exactly 0 replied from both Valve's and 2K's side regarding the issue (great help guys!). On the 16th of March I sent an email to customerservice 2ksports com, contact take2games com, contact valvesoftware com and email support.steampowered com. It seems that this workaround has been removed due to abuse caused by users using ISO's of the disc to activate the game. Valve implemented a workaround in the product registration process to allow NBA 2K9 to be registered with just the disc present (no product key was required). The issue relates to the activation of NBA 2K9 retail discs, due to a issue at 2K these discs were shipped without product keys. Submitting this here in the hope someone at Valve actually shows some interest in helping resolve this issue.
